Biography
Brent’s eight-man career included many record-breaking performances. He set the state career rushing record at the time with 5,354 total yards. He also set many of his school’s rushing records, including career yards and career touchdowns (97). As a sophomore, Brent’s 1,943 yards and 34 touchdowns helped propel his team to the 1985 Class D1 State Title. He then led the Panthers to a state runner-up finish in 1986 and a state semi-final appearance in 1987. Throughout his career, he was named both 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-State on 3 separate occasions. In 1988, he was selected to play in the Eight-Man All Star Game and then played football for the University of Nebraska at Omaha. After college, Brent went on to coach high school football for 22 years, including 7 seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater. In 1999, he helped lead Bancroft-Rosalie to another D-1 State Football Championship. The NEMFCA is honored to welcome him into the Eight Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
