Biography

After playing eight-man football for Elba, Randy went on to an outstanding college football career at Kearney State College. From 1963 to 1966 he played alongside his two brothers (Gary and Bob) and the Antelopes lost just 4 games in 4 years. Randy was then drafted in the 12th Round of the 1967 NFL draft to play for the New York Jets. One of his many highlights included playing in the very first Monday Night Football broadcast. However, his greatest accomplishment came during the 1969 season, when his team pulled off the greatest upset in NFL history by defeating the Baltimore Colts to win Super Bowl III. Known for his toughness and longevity, Randy played 15 successful seasons in New York as a starter on the Jets’ offensive line. The NEMFCA is honored to add to his accolades by welcoming him into the Eight Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
