Biography

From 1989 to 1993, “Crazy-Legs” Lenners was one of the best athletes to ever play Nebraska 8-Man Football. Standing at an imposing 6’3 and weighing over 200 pounds, Curt was a menacing physical presence in the Wildcats backfield. In his prep career, he tallied some 6,000 all-purpose yards, including rushing for over 2,000 yards in the 1992 regular season. During that same span, Curt was selected 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All- Area, while also being honored as a 1st Team All-State Running Back following both his Junior and Senior seasons. Curt was also an All-State caliber athlete in both basketball and track & field- where he won the 100, 200, and 400 meter sprints at the 1992 and 1993 State Track Meets. Curt went on to play in the 1993 Eight Man All-Star Game, scoring 2 touchdowns while leading the East Squad to a 26-20 victory (on the final play of the game). After high school, he enrolled at the University of Nebraska, where Curt helped the Huskers win Big 12 Conference and College Football National Championships, while playing on both Defense and Special Teams. The NEMFCA is honored to now welcome him into the Eight-Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
