Biography

Dan played eight-man football at Mason City High School in the early 1960’s and later graduated from Kearney State College in 1966. His coaching career spanned over 37 years and most-notably included 2 stints at Ansley High School (from 1971 to 1999 and then again from 2007 to 2010). Coach Moore’s Ansley teams won State championships in 1977 and 1986, and also added 9 runner-up finishes in 11 total state championship appearances (16 state playoff appearances). Dan coached the West All-Star team in 1987 and 1988 and over the years he sent 19 Ansley players to the All-Star game. He is most proud of the time and effort put in by his teams and he believes that great players make great coaches. His career record stands at 255 wins, 82 losses, and one tie. The NEMFCA is honored to welcome him into the Eight Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2017.
