Biography

Coach Cook’s career spanned over six decades with 40 of those years spent at Adams High School from 1969 to 2009. His career record was 260 wins, 94 losses, and 2 ties. His teams qualified for the playoffs 14 times and won 4 state titles from 1974 to 1977 (while also winning 46 consecutive games during that span—a state record at the time). He spent his entire career coaching Eight Man Football. He was one of the founding fathers of the Nebraska Eight Man Football Coaches Association and established the Eight Man All-Star Game in 1978. He served as president of the association from 1977 to 1979 and All-Star Camp Coordinator for a quarter century. Over the years, Coach Cook sent 14 of his players to the All-Star Game, including his son Robert in 1982 when he served as Head Coach of the East team. Ken has been inducted into the Kearney State Athletic Hall of Fame, the Nebraska High School Hall of Fame, and the National High School Hall of Fame. The NEMFCA is honored to welcome him to his rightful place in the Eight Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2017.
