Biography
Ron began his 60 year football odyssey in 1955 as an eight-man football player in Coleridge, Nebraska. After high school, he went on to serve as both a player and an assistant coach for Wayne State College. He then arrived in Beemer, Nebraska in the fall of 1977. After an appearance in the state playoffs in his first season, Ron led his team to back-to-back undefeated seasons and State Championships in both 1978 and 1979. During that span, the Bobcats compiled a 32 game winning streak and won the first Class D-1 overtime championship game in state history. After 2 separate coaching stints in Beemer (1977-1980 and 1986-1991), Coach Peck moved to coach eight-man football in the state of Iowa. His Adair-Casey teams won back-to- back state titles in 2000 and 2001, and added a state runner-up finish in 2003. Ron then closed out his career as an assistant coach at Bancroft-Rosalie High School from 2004 to 2014, where he served as defensive-coordinator. He made one final appearance in the state title game with the Panthers in 2006. Overtheyears,hecoached9Eight-ManAll-Stars(includinghisson Ted Peck & son-in-law Lonnie Lierman) and also served as the East head coach in 1979. Coach Peck retired from football after the 2014 season with a career record of 189 wins and 69 losses. The NEMFCA is honored to welcome him into the Eight Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
