Cory Holl
Elwood
Class of
2025
Biography
From 1984 to 1987, Cory was a dynamic 3-time 1,000-yard rusher for Hall of Fame Coach Kevin Mahlberg and the Pirates. During his decorated time in high school, he amassed over 5,200 career rushing yards and 56 touchdowns while helping his team to three consecutive playoff runs- including rushing for 1, 868 yards as a senior and leading Elwood to the 1987 State Semi-Finals. During that span, Cory was named 1st Team All-Conference three times, 1st Team All-State on 2 occasions, and was later selected to play in the 11th Annual 8-Man All Star Game in 1988. After high school, he moved on to Hastings College, where he successfully competed for both the football and track teams. Cory’s proudest moments as a player came when he was able to represent Elwood alongside his teammates (including his twin brother Cary), and learning from exceptional coaches and teachers- like Coach Mahlberg. These experiences inspired Cory to pursue his life-long career as a teacher, coach, and administrator for the Nebraska Public School system. The NEMFCA is honored to welcome him into the Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
