Biography
Dr. Cerny served as head football coach at Bancroft-Rosalie Community School for 32 years from 1981 to 2014. During that span, his teams qualified for the state playoffs 23 times. They won state championships in 1985 and 1999, and finished as runners-up in 1986 and 2006. Over the years, Jon coached 23 All-Stars and served as the East assistant coach in 1987 and as head coach in 1992. He also coached in the 2006 Nebraska vs. Oklahoma All- Star game and in the 2008 Nebraska vs. Kansas All-Star game. Dr. Cerny retired from football after the 2014 season with a career record of 230 wins and 94 losses. The NEMFCA is honored to welcome him into the Eight Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2017.
