Biography
Mike played football at Hampton High School for Hall of Fame Coach Jim Connick from 1974 to 1977. During his senior year, he was named to the Omaha World Herald’s Class D1 All-State Team (1st Team). He was also a key player on two state runner-up teams for the Hawks that were a combined 22-2 during his junior and senior seasons. Both he and his twin brother Brian were selected to play for the East team in the very first All-Star Game. Mike was then named the most valuable defensive player of the 1978 game. In that same summer, he also became the first athlete to play in both the Eight-Man Game and the Nebraska Shrine Bowl. The NEMFCA is honored to welcome him into the Eight Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2017.
