Biography

Tom was a standout player for Hall of Fame Coach Bill Mimick’s powerful Spencer-Naper teams of the early 1990’s. In his career, he led the Pirates to 3 state playoff appearances, including the state semi-finals in both 1991 and 1992. In his first and only season in the backfield, Tom set a school record with 2,168 yards rushing. Also as a senior, he amassed a single-season school record with 174 total tackles from his linebacker position. He received 1st Team All-Area, 1st Team All-Conference, and 1st Team All-State honors on both sides of the ball as both a junior and senior. In the summer of 1993, Tom was selected to play in the Eight-Man All Star Game as well as the Nebraska Shrine Bowl. He went on to play football at Concordia College and was later named to the Class D1 All-Decade Team for the 1990’s by Huskerland Prep Report. The NEMFCA is honored to welcome Tom along with his father and brother into the Eight Man Football Hall of Fame as our 2018 Family Legacy.
